Warm, sweet, and woodsy, these Palo Santo sticks are Bursera graveolens and sold as a set of three, loosely tied with white cotton string.
This wood is collected from naturally fallen, aged trees. It is not cut from living trees. Letting the wood rest and mature after it has fallen is how the characteristic scent develops, and it is the accepted ethical standard for this incense wood.
Palo Santo has a long history in folk practice and is traditionally associated with cleansing, blessing, calming a space, and inviting in a sweeter, more settled atmosphere after clearing work. It is often used at the end of a ritual, when opening a new space, or whenever a gentle, grounding smoke is wanted.
Each stick is a natural piece of wood, so size, shape, grain, and color will vary slightly from stick to stick.
To use, light the end of the stick, allow it to catch briefly, then gently blow out the flame so the wood smolders. Move the smoke through your space, around ritual tools, or wherever a blessing is desired. Always burn in a fire-safe dish, use in a well-ventilated area, and never leave burning wood unattended.
Includes 3 palo santo sticks.
